Securing Pro-Life Journalism for the Post-Roe Generation

Today, we’re proud to announce the launch of The Pro Life Journal.

Inspired by the overturning of Roe v. Wade, our mission is to be the best source of pro-life media for the post-Roe generation. This historic decision by the U.S. Supreme Court holds incredibly positive implications for the future of the pro-life movement: It has instilled hope in millions of people, proving that progress is possible, and sparked a cascade of state legislatures acting to move the ball further.

However, it does present a risk: If we are too passive in our activism, we may one day look back at the undoing of Roe as the most significant missed opportunity in the history of our country. Therefore, we are creating Pro Life Journal as a reaction to this victory, using the opportunity to seize upon the court's decision and accelerate the reach and growth of our advocacy.

In our view, creating The Pro Life Journal is one of those necessary steps of aggressing the fight to further eliminate abortion. It is a reaction that leverages the momentum gained from our victory. Reflecting on the progress we’ve made over the past two decades, there is much to be grateful for. Prior to the 2016 election, the pro-life movement involved little concrete action, resulting in significant cultural setbacks. Since the advent of the internet, public opinion towards abortion had become increasingly liberal. This trajectory was only disrupted after Donald Trump's election as president. He prioritized pro-life issues during his campaign and, once elected, became the first president to attend the annual March for Life in Washington. Of course, his presidency led to the overturning of Roe and our current, more hopeful prospects: a weakened abortion lobby and the fortification of our movement whose activism has proliferated nationwide. Americans are beginning to once again embrace the principle that life is sacred.

As Christians, our goal is to promote this principle, according to the teachings of Jesus. A core tenet of Christian belief is the inherent dignity and respect owed to every person - from conception to natural death - and the obligation of strong men to protect the most vulnerable in our society. Despite the fact that our leaders often encourage the tragedy of abortion, we are called to speak for those who cannot. By building a platform around this issue, we can help to preserve a future for millions of lives.

What do we aim to accomplish that others have not? While we aim to be the best platform for pro-life media, we are interested in expanding our work into the real world. This means actively engaging in projects that directly impact legislation and our communities. Importantly, this mission must extend beyond our core audience. We recognize the imperative of reaching those who may be on the fence regarding this issue, or have been influenced by immoral cultural narratives. We seek not just to reinforce existing rhetoric, but to challenge misconceptions and change minds.

The Pro Life Journal is a call to action for individuals from diverse backgrounds who share these convictions. Through stories and discussion, we want to equip you with the resources you need to fight against abortion. Join us in our righteous mission - We are stronger together.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Jeremiah 1:5
